In the last chapter of the ATIPICI certified Sneakerhead Dictionary we took a general look at the world of sneakerheads , taking into consideration all the general terms that describe or use sneakerheads. In this article, however, we will deal with everything relating to the anatomy of a sneaker .

AGLETS
Aglets are those little tips found at the end of shoelaces . Until recently they were made of plastic, now they are made of all materials from fiber to carbon. When they say that details make the difference...
BRED
The word BRED comes from the union (crasis) of BLACK and RED . This word, within the sneaker game, refers to the black and red color combination. Obviously we are talking about J's (Air Jordan).
BANNED
It recalls the color of the Air Jordan 1 which in 1985 was banned (hence the name "banned") by the NBA for breaking the regulations relating to player uniforms . The fine for anyone who wore them amounted to a whopping $5,000 per game. It seems that Michael Jordan, despite the warnings from the sports league, continued to use these shoes and that Nike bore all the costs relating to the "misdeed".
COLLAR
The collar is the highest part of the shoe together with the tongue, the collar that wraps the ankle . Among the sneakers that have the collar more prominently than the others, there are certainly the various Fila Disruptor models.
COLORWAY
The Colorway is the color of the shoe.
SUN GUM
It is a type of sole that shoes have. This is the dark brown colored sole and is super popular due to its long life and durability so it shows no signs of wear and tear.
HIGH/HI
High profile shoe (like basketball shoe models back). Style guaranteed!
HEEL TAB/BACK PANEL
As the words themselves say, these terms refer to the back panels on the back of some shoes… Think for example of the Air Jordan 3 or 4.
ICY SUN
Is it said when the soles of the shoe are ice-colored, in semi-transparent blue , like the Jordan XI retro low for example? Now, those are the Icy Soles.
INFRARED
Red tone colorway developed by Nike , to which some of the Beaverton company's most successful models are linked. An example? The Jordan 6 Retro “Black Infrared!
INSOLE
Internal insole of the shoe.
JB/JUMPMAN
The Jordan Brand logo , also connected to the symbol of the company itself, i.e. the silhouette of his aerial height while he dunks from the free throw line.
LOW
Shoe with collar that remains below the ankle . There are so many low sneakers but we always stick to Jordans. How about?
MESH
Polyester-based plastic fabric with knitted structure.
MID
Shoe silhouette with mid-ankle collar . Guy? Jordan 1 mid, Jordan 1 mid, Jordan 1 mid and others…
MIDSUN
The midsole of the shoe , the part that is between the outsole and the upper. This is the part that gives cushioning to the shoe, in which Nike and Jordan insert the Air Unit technology.
NIPPLES
They are the plastic elements on the outer sole of the shoes , the condition of a shoe can be assessed from the state of the nipples. (Remember this detail when buying sneakers from resellers)

It stands for original, in Hip Hop parlance "Original Gangster". First release color of a shoe, usually limited edition. We have chosen to show you this!
OUTSOLE
Outer sole of the shoe.
HEEL
The heel is the portion of the shoe in which there are cushioning systems which have the purpose of dividing and breaking down the vertical force, given by walking and the weight of the body, into its horizontal component, in order to make contact with the foot less traumatic. foot with the ground. TOE BOX

UPPER

UPPER
Everything that relates from the top to the midsole . This is the upper of the shoe.
YELLOWED
Soles that have aged and therefore yellowed with time and wear .
