High or low shoes? It doesn't matter, as long as the sneakers are comfortable, resistant and above all suitable for the most extreme environmental conditions that can be encountered on the planets of the Solar System, just like those that Samantha Cristoforetti would choose.
Since the beginning of spring 2022, Sam, the Italian celebrity astronaut, has returned to the International Space Station aboard the SpaceX shuttle. The program was to carry out some research among the stars for ESA - European Space Agency but she got bored and after announcing the name of the new Italian constellation "IRIDE" live from the ISS, she decided to go on a space journey for a super top secret mission to find a new planet.
To survive in space he brought with him the best sneakers on the planet, and in the galaxy, ending up discovering the new planet of the Solar System. From Earth to beyond Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. Fasten your seatbelts!
On the International Space Station, astronauts are provided with a basic clothing kit consisting of 7 briefs, 2 t-shirts, 2 shorts and a sports shirt, 3 pairs of socks and, for women, a bra (or tank top, if preferred ) and 2 sports bras, which should last 2 weeks. In addition to being a record woman for most hours of space collected, AstroSam is also a sneakerhead - and, before leaving, she had the best kicks sent to the ISS via cargo vehicle. And thank goodness, because now that his journey into space begins, he's going to need it!
The ISS is suspended in orbit around our planet, Earth, and it is from here that Sam began his adventure in outer space. For the departure from the surroundings of the Blue Planet, he decided to wear the Vans EVDNT Ultimate Waffle (Translucent) . For these very comfortable futuristic Vans with translucent Ice sole, padded tongue, breathable mesh upper, Luxliner interior and UltraCush™ insole for total cushioning and resistance that guarantee comfort even under the propulsion of space rockets, our astronaut could only choose the Delicate Blue / Limoges colorway.
Cristoforetti decided to take a short stop on the Moon to observe the beauty of our Planet and its oceans as a whole. Nothing better than the Adidas Forum mid x Parley to enjoy a walk in reduced gravity.
The adjustable crossed strap guarantees optimal grip of the shoe while the recycled synthetic leather, the Strap and the 3 Stripes made from 100% Parley Ocean plastic recovered from sea waste, and the BOOST sole from production waste make up a sneaker that reminds us to respect our planet at every step.
Passing through Mars, Sam chose the Nike Air More Uptempo 96 to make sure she didn't go unnoticed in the chaos of the Red Planet. In fact, while these kicks protect with the padding of the upper and elastic straps, they show off the extra-large Air logo, classic of the Uptempo and the clearly visible Air unit between the midsole and rubber sole, for guaranteed grip even on the rough terrain of Mars.
Samantha's journey could not miss a stop on the Giant of the Solar System. As our astronaut friend reminds us, Jupiter has a mass two and a half times the sum of all the other planets put together and for a visit to the first of the gaseous planets one can only choose the shoes of another giant: the Jumpman.
If you ever find yourself paying a visit to Jupiter, it is recommended to wear the Air Jordan XXXVI in the space colors of the Black / Laser Orange / Deadly Pink palette. Choosing the reactivity and resistance of technical shoes like these basketball shoes designed by His Highness can save your life when you have to move in a silicon storm with exaggerated gravity.
Released from the pressure of Jupiter, Samantha decided to visit one last planet before the leap into the boundless space outside the known Solar System. While exploring, Sam's attention was caught by the rings of Saturn, so after months without physical activity, he decided to slip into his New Balance Fresh Foam Hierro V6 to stretch his legs in the 275,000km ring. Nice session of running!
After the run on Saturn's ring, Samantha got back into her spaceship and went beyond Uranus and Neptune in search of the new planet. And after a few days of navigating the darkness of the universe… He found it!
When Samantha saw it, she didn't want to believe it. After passing the atmosphere, it landed and discovered a bright planet, rich in energy and vitality. She would have liked to call it "The Fresh Planet" but together with ESA and NASA she decided to call it the "Atypical Planet". Here Samantha met a population of very stylish aliens with a passion for urban culture and music hip-hop. These Atipici did not offer her, as a welcome, a pair of Nike Space Hippie 04 Total White but also the water bottle and the Atipici Starter Pack hoodie in Atipici Blue, the official streetwear clothing of the planet.
Now Samantha is returning to Earth and who knows what other space shoes she will bring us once she returns. Start discovering all the sneakers available in the Atipici Shops in Turin, Milan, Ivrea, Alassio, Novara, Cuneo, Asti, Alessandria, Savona Santa Margherita Ligure and immediately buy the official Atipici merch online on ATIPICISHOP.COM
