The Puma brand contains a history of brotherhood, rivalry and constant comparison that led two of the major sports - streetwear brands to compete in the style and quality of their sneakers and products.
The origin of Puma intersects with that of another very famous brand producing sports shoes and activewear: Adidas. In fact, in 1924 the two brothers Rudolf and Adolf Dassler founded the company "Gebrüder Dassler Schuhfabrik" - literally "Dassler brothers shoe factory" - which until 1948 produced the best kicks in the country. In that year the two brothers separated and while on the one hand Adolf, known as Adi, founded AdiDas, Rudolf founded PUMA, initially called "Sport Schuhfabrik Rudolf Dassler" or "RUDA"
Rudolf Dassler and a team of advertisers created his own logo which was simple, contrasting in shape with his brother's 3 Stripes and which at the same time expressed superior strength and power, hence the choice of the iconic emblem of the famous feline.
In 1979 the Puma logo was modified again. The puma jump becomes the new symbol of the brand. Dynamic, resistant, flexible, fast and ferocious: the logo embodies the characteristics that consumers also want to find in products, apparel and sports shoes,

Thus the logo becomes the protagonist of the design on sportswear products adopted by athletes and entire teams, thus quickly becoming known throughout the world. Puma has always been a protagonist in world sporting competitions such as the Olympic Games and the most prestigious events in international football.
Precisely in the world of the most followed sport in Italy we see the two sister brands clash again, in 2006, at the World Cup final between Italy and France. It wasn't just a football match that was played but also a match between brands. In fact, the Puma logo appeared on the Italian uniforms, while the Adidas logo appeared on the French ones. The heated rivalry between Adidas and Puma in turn ended with a sporting event, in 2009, on the occasion of Peace Day, with a symbolic cross-sponsored football match, demonstrating how sport can also unite two brands that have been fighting for years.
